Ondina: The Little Beloved Mermaid is a dramatic debut by Lucie Hrochová. However, Lucie Hrochová already wrote two books (Přátelství z nebes (2009) and Poznání z nebes (2011), issued by Akcent) and co-wrote a theater performance (Giuliettiny noci (2019), Studio Marta). The text is based on the dramatic play of Ondine by Jean Giradoux, a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, collected Icelandic legends by Knud Rasmussen and others.

The main theme is the contrast between soul and ego, nature and man, immortality and finality, simplicity on the one hand and artificial complexity but also human creativity and sophistication on the other. The natural, powerful and simple at the same time is represented by the mermaid Ondina, opposite it is represented by the mortal Hans. However, these two beings, who are opposites to each other, admire and desire each other. The basic creative motif here is the genre range of the artists themselves, their artistic background and experience in theater such as ballet, opera, drama, modern and contemporary dance, physical theater, experimental performance.

Just as the text motivationally refers to famous literary works, the music cites famous works with a similar theme, but at the same time it is a new authorial contribution by composer and DJ Sonority (Jan Hanák).

The production of ProART Ondina: The Little Beloved Mermaid underlines the multi-genre range of the ProART ensemble, which is increasingly moving from pure dance pieces through dance and movement theater to experimental forms of originally classical drama.

Dvořákova choreografie výborně dokreslila znějící slova i hudbu a sama doplňovala dějovou linku.

Ivo, 7 let
