Martin Dvořák a ProART Company (CZ): VITKA

Dance-music theatre as a tribute to the composer Vítězslava Kaprálová

Three actors (Irene Bauer, Kamila Valůšková a Martin Dvořák) reflect not only on the life of composer and conductor Kaprálová, but above all its feelings. The emotions of Kaprálová's music influence a new piece from the composer Omar Ruiz, as well as a text composition of the project author Martin Dvořák.

The goal is to blend all three inspirational streams: music – text – motion, dance, expressions of artists. In the end this is about the drama represented by an actor and the individual creative choreographic potential of the dancers. The piece interconnects a variety of different artistic disciplines which interact and communicate with each other. Live music accompaniment: Kostiantyn Tyshko

"There is nothing left but to seek good with eyes, wide open, and to get tougher by evil; be grateful for beauty surrounding us, and the pain… "

A Slovak-German-Austrian contemporary dance night with music by J. S. Bach

Suites is a celebration of the ever-changing dancer's body and its ability to open communication between him and the audience where a dance on empty stage and structured improvisation meet with composition.

According to an anecdote, Comte Hermann Carl von Keyserlingk ordered piano compositions from Johann Sebastian Bach. These were to be played by his pianist Johann Gottlieb Goldberg during his sleepless nights. This is one of the versions of the origin of the famous Goldberg variations. Who among you has no experience of sleepless nights during which our thoughts fly around our head like mosquitos, it is too hot or too cold, or thirst or hunger drive us to the kitchen? German duo Olaf Reinecke and Baerbel Stenzenberger will poetically guide us through a sleepless night.

BOkomplex (DE) - ProART Company (CZ): GOLDBERG VARIATIONS + EMOTICON

Czech-German- Austrian contemporary dance evening with music by J. S. Bach and E. Satie

Whom among you has no experience of those sleepless nights during which our thoughts fly around our head like mosquitos, it is too hot or too cold, or thirst or hunger drive us to the kitchen? German duo Olaf Reinecke and Baerbel Stenzenberger will poetically guide us through a sleepless night.

Choreographic concept by Martin Dvořák is presented as a clash between the new and the old, the past and the present. As the building of Brno's Vila Tugendhat (venue of the project premier) radically changed the perception and esthetics of architecture in its time, we also find a musical composition clash between the modern piano music of the 20th century with the contemporary. Piano acoustic composition meets the electronic compositions of the 21st century, breaking into a new form, nearer to the listener of today's young generation. Both interpreters - Irene Bauer and Martin Dvořák – are looking for a dialogue between the solid structure of Eric Satie's score and the sound freedom of Tom Hodge and Franz Kirmann.
