Štěpán Pácl
In 2007 he graduated the Academy of Performing Arts by directing theater production of contemporary drama play “Kingdom”. The production won the prize “Marta” for best director at the International Festival Meeting/ Encounter 2007.
He worked as assistant director of Vaclav Havel's drama “Leaving” for the Archa Theatre (Directed by David Radok, premiere May 2008). In spring 2008 he directed play “Dorothy” by Magdalena Frydrychová for the Švandovo Theatre in Prague. This production has been invited to international festivals in Cesky Tesin, Hradec Kralove and Olomouc.
In October 2008 he premiered his own project “Everyday life” in the theater Alfred ve dvoře in Prague, the production was also played at the Prague alternative festival Small invetura 2009 and in Hradec Kralové at International Theatre Festival of European Regions.
In November 2008 he directed in cooperation with dramaturg Tereza Marečková Czech play End of Carnival by Josef Topol for DISK Theatre in Prague. This production won the Alfred Radok Talent Award in 2008. The same award got Štěpán Pácl again in 2010, when directed a play Bloody Christening for National Moravian-Silesian Theatre of J. K. Tyl in Ostrava. From 2015 - 2017, he was resident director of first czech theatre scene - National Theatre in Prague.
