Neil Paris
Born and raised in Norfolk, England, Neil trained at Dartington College of Arts (UK) and Laban, London. From 2003-2010 he was a core member of Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre. Directed by Michael Keegan-Dolan, their award-winning work toured the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. It received Olivier nominations for three productions: Giselle, The Bull and The Rite of Spring, which was produced in collaboration with English National Opera. He devised and led workshop programmes for Fabulous Beast, is a graduate of the Royal Opera House’s Write an Opera programme and was Artist in Residence on the island of Inis Oirr in the Arann Islands, Ireland in 2008/9.
He teaches dancetheatre workshops for all ages and abilities and has worked regularly with Margaret Pikes at The Roy Hart Centre for Voice, in Malearagues, France, exploring vocal expression and singing.
He is artistic director of SMITH dancetheatre who toured the UK with Agnes and Walter: A Little Love Story in 2011 and 2012. www.agnesandwalter.co.uk

Neil’s searching project will explore creating dances and stories from the group using play, games, improvisation, dance, theatre and the voice. The aim will be to create ensemble dance-theatre piece which is inspirated by a body, a voice, a word or by an image.
