Félix Duméril

Félix Duméril studied at the Swiss Professional Ballet School, at the John Cranko School and at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague. After an engagement with the modern dance group "Déjeuner sur l'herbe" followed engagements at the De Rotterdamse Dansgroep (where he also started to choreograph), the Stuttgart Ensemble Transform, the Company Pretty Ugly (director: Amanda Miller) and with Ivan Wolfe (Pool Company). From 1994 to 1999 Félix was a dancer at the Bern City Theatre (director: Martin Schläpfer).

In that time he danced pieces by Hans van Manen, Stijn Celis, Jim Vincent, Martino Müller, George Balanchine, Heinz Spoerrli, Kurt Joss, Daniela Kurz and Martin Schläpfer.

In 1999 he was appointed director of the dance departement and choreographer at the Bern City Theatre. He invited choreografers such as: Jirì Kylian, Amanda Miller, Stijn Celis, Jo Stromgren, Jennifer Hanna and many more…

Since 2004, Félix has worked as a freelance guest choreographer, as dance teacher and as dancer. He spent 9 months in St Petersburg choreographing for the Jacobson Company. In 2005 he choreographed for a project for the opening of the new Paul Klee Centre in Bern.

2006 he created for the Tiroler Landestheater.

2006-07 He danced in different projects of the InFlux company and did a tour in different Switzerland, in Southafrika and Mozambique.

2007 Félix worked with Hideto Heshiki company in Zürich.

2008 – 2010 he created various pieces for the Cathy Sharp Ensemble in Basel and toured with them internationally

2010 he collaborated with the famous dancer / choreografer  Catherine Habasque the Programm L EXPERIENCE.

2010 he performed in the Film GRAATZUG by the company De ROTHFILS

2010 -2012 he created for the CINEVOX Junior Dance Company 3 pieces called which toured in whole Switzerland and Germany & Lichtenstein. 2006 he founded with Misato Inoue the Collective T 4 2  DANCE PROJECTS, (with a repertory of 13 productions) which were performed with great succes in Switzerland and internationally F, P, I, D, CZ, IRL, SRB, THAI, JAP, USA, CAN, RUS. T 4 2 collaborates regularly with different artists, such as video designer Peter Aerschmann, composers Simon Ho, Yves Ribis, Pierre Favre, designer Jann Messerli and many more.

Prague 28. 7. - 3. 8. 2013

This workshop by choreographer & dancer Félix Duméril investigates physically the various inspiring sites of the city of Prague on the concept of FIND YOUR SPACE. It is an invitation for experienced and less experienced dancers to explore the quests like: How does a site influence us, our body & minds? How do we do influence the site? Like every expedition it is connected to curiousity, improvisation, playfullness and sharing creativity with eachother. Let's go and discover.
