SILK: Silke Grabinger

She started dancing at the age of four and breakdancing in August 1997. Her obsession with Art payed off in Award winning prices and exhibitions in the United States, Canada and Europe. Her breakthrough was in 2001 when she made 1st Place in the international female breakdance competition the B-GIRL BATTLE in Berlin. Musicvideos and Presentations for Companies like MERCEDES, CITROEN and ADIDAS followed. She compeated Internationally, Solo and with her Sponsor Tribal Team. As well as being a founder of the german funkstyle crew 4Seriaz and the world famous b-girl crew Female Artistics. Dance theater projects: "41" and "RUMBLE" from Renegade Theater with international touring followed. In these projects she worked with the Choreographers Lorca Renoux ("Cage") and Samir Akika ("E.T.E"). She also took part in the Creation of Dave St.Pierres (CAN): "A LITTLE TENDERNESS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!".

SLIK performed 2 years in the Cirque du Soleil/the Beatles Show "LOVE" in Las Vegas in the Mirage Casino, where she created the main Dance Solo ""while my guitar gently weeps" written and recorded by George Harrison, Guitar Solo recording Eric Clapton. In the "LOVE" production she performed also as an Arial Artist in the act "Something" and worked with the choreographers Dave St.Pierre(CAN), Margie Gillis(CAN) and Daniel Ezralow(USA) (Across the universe/How the Grinch stole Christmas). In 2008 she created her first Solo Dance Theater Play called "[SLIK]" with the austrian choreographer Roderich Madl(AT) (Pilottanzt). [SLIK] is the WINNER of the AWARD of Linz09, culture capital city of Europe 2009. [SLIK] is an austrian Coproduction of Szene Salzburg, ImPulsTanz and Tanquartier Wien. 2009 SLIK got awarded from the state of Austria with the scholarship for music and performing arts and the Austrian state award for Design 2009.
