Kaori Ito

undefined Kaori has studied Classical Ballet under TAKAGI Syuntoku since she was five years old in Tokyo. At the age of eighteen, she was awarded by Ryouiti Enomoto for being the best young dancer and choreographer performing solo at the ST spot, Yokohama. Upon entering Purchase College, State University of New York, as a dance major, she studied Graham, Cunningham, Limon, and Horton techniques. In 2002, she received [Yokohama Cultural Foundation Award], choreographing and performing solo in "Yokohama Dance Collection (Solo & Duo competition)"

In 2004, she received National Conference Award, choreographing and performing duet in Rencontres choregraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Deni. From January 2004, she goes to New York as the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists and studied at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. She has also worked with Naini Chen dance company, AADA (Avant- guard Art of Dance Associations) in Slovenia. During her stay in N.Y, she has also choreographed and danced at Joyce Soho Presents, and did a residency at Queens Museum of Art.
